About The Team BDO's Consulting team provides professional client services in strategy, sustainability, regulatory, transformation, technology, people and human capital. You’ll work with diverse clients who value our expertise and support, as well as build and tailor our approaches to help our clients solve their problems. You will collaborate with our delivery teams and experts to deliver successfully for our clients. Engagements may include (and are not limited to): Governance, regulation and conduct advisory Operational resilience advisory Remediation Transformation delivery across complex, large-scale programs and projects Operating Model design, implementation and review Business Performance Improvement Process and efficiency optimisation Key responsibilities Working with a dynamic group of Partners and broader team to further develop and grow the BDO Melbourne Consulting practice, which will include the following: Managing or delivering a variety of projects in accordance with BDO’s methodologies and procedures. This will include report writing and communicating with clients. Collaborating across various BDO teams to deliver valuable advice and precise recommendations to our clients in relation to their strategic objectives. Leading or supporting business development activities including engaging with current and potential future clients, tracking potential engagement opportunities, and developing proposals Collaborating with the Partner and senior management to assist with scheduling of work across the practice and contributing to the development of junior staff in a mentoring capacity. Developing and maintaining relationships with clients (and the broader industry) and working with Partners in creating future business opportunities. Any other activities as required supporting the efficient management and function of the team About You We are looking for highly-motivated individuals with experience delivering, reviewing and/or advising on complex engagements for clients in highly regulated environments. It is strongly recommended that you have demonstrable experience in the following: A strong internal drive, a growth mindset and aspirations for leadership opportunities Consulting experience from global well-established consulting organisations, preferably in the area of regulatory change, operational resilience and transformation advisory, or similar professional services experience Experience of working in Australia with a preference for individuals who have an existing and strong business and/or client network in Melbourne (or other Australian capital cities) A natural business development aptitude with evidence of existing network Financial Services experience. Strong networks, relationships and credentials delivering quality results to large banks and other Financial Services institutions. Experience in sizing engagements including scoping the skills & experience required, team structure and supporting pricing framework for delivery Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (via reports, analysis, presentations, emails, and in conversations), work in a multi-disciplinary team, manage engagements and deliverables Demonstrated ability to lead, or contribute to, the development of a team Depending on the seniority of the role being applied for, demonstrated ability to lead, or contribute to, client relationships and business development activities and initiatives Strong preference for legal or compliance qualifications in addition to practical experience.
